L.A.N.O.S. acronym for Lightspeed Astronautical Navigation Operated System was the replacement A.I. of Aya for the Interceptor, after she was sentenced to be dissected by the Guardians.[1]

L.A.N.O.S. was installed as the new A.I. for the Interceptor by the Guardians. When Hal Jordan and Kilowog boarded the ship, L.A.N.O.S. surprised the two, and greeted them. While flying at high speed, he showed the location of Aya, at the request of Hal and told she was about to be dissected in two hours. L.A.N.O.S. was ordered to stop next to the Science Branch on Oa. After they arrived, Hal removed the A.I. L.A.N.O.S. from the Interceptor and switched with Aya's A.I. on the operating table. After Aya was rescued by Hal, L.A.N.O.S. tried to convince the Science director that he was not Aya.[1]

When Aya hijacked the Anti-Monitor, he replaced Aya once more as the new AI. He is discovered as the ship's NAV computer by Kilowog and Razer. Kilowog identifies him as "Lamo," because of L.A.N.O.S.'s irritating personality. Razer does not understand the name and says that he will need more information, and L.A.N.O.S. immediately begins giving information on the Crentel beast. Later, he stated that Hal Jordan became an Orange lantern, attacked them, and exited the Interceptor.

L.A.N.O.S. continued to be the Interceptor's NAV computer and guided Hal Jordan, Kilowog and Razer away from the asteroid beast. He, along with the Interceptor, drove at Ultra-warp speed into Aya, pushing her and the Anti-Monitor into another dimension. Hal Jordan bid him goodbye before L.A.N.O.S. was destroyed.
